With Mary
The seven sorrows of Mary
1. The prophecy of Simeon
O my Mother, Most Sorrowful Mother, Simeon’s words turned all the joy in your heart into bitter desolation. After having received your Child Jesus in his arms, he foretold that your Son would be destined for the fall and rise of many and treated like a villain.
You endured this pain for 33 years, continually keeping in mind the Passion of your Son.
And yet, your soul was at peace. When we suffer trials, let us imagine Jesus comforting us, like He comforted you, and remain loving while we suffer.
O Mary, obtain for me the grace of patience during the trials of this life.
