1. The Pilgrimage Process
Why make a pilgrimage?
We make a pilgrimage because Mary is an important person to us! Jesus, on the cross, gave her as Mother to his disciple, who represented the Church. We are members of the Body of Christ, sisters and brothers of Christ, and Mary is our Mother. She came to visit us in this chapel, to bring the message of faith, hope and love to each one of us. The Medal is a gift of love from heaven for all of us!
We can express our gratitude to Mary and ask her to help us to grow in our ability to Love.
How can this process help me?
This important time can help to renew our faith and hope and put it into practice. It can also help us to become more aware of God’s presence in our lives. Jesus did not just come 2000 years ago! God continues to be present, and in a very significant way here!
Mary’s visit to Sister Catherine Laboure, a simple young woman who had left everything to follow God and to serve poor persons in the name of Jesus Christ, shows us that God is available to everyone. We are all equal in God’s sight.
The Medal, a gift of the Blessed Virgin Mary to all her children, is a summary of our faith and a sign of the hope that dwells within us. By coming to this chapel, Mary reminds us that her Son Jesus is risen from the dead and that she lives in glory with her Son for all eternity!
Come to the foot of the altar!
We are all invited, from all over the world, from every country, from the regions of France and from Paris! Mary is waiting for us!
