2. Be open to Mary Immaculate
How can we welcome Mary, the one “conceived without sin” into our lives today?
We are struck by the sufferings in our world. Why not help spread to others the meaning of the Immaculate Conception? The Immaculate Conception of Mary serves as a kind of prophetic message about the victory of good over evil, justice over injustice, joy over sadness, life over death. From the richness of this reality, we can draw the grace we need to achieve our hopes and dreams, and the deepest desires of human hearts that are expressed so much today.
Desire for complete freedom: This is a gift that Mary received, to be set free from sin, in advance, in a unique and absolute way by the merits of her Son. Desire to be loved: God’s love is revealed through Mary. Desire for happiness: Mary is the first human being to experience this happiness dwelling within her through salvation that she helped bring into the world. Desire for meaning: Mary helps show that God has a special vocation meant for each person, for humanity as a whole and for all of creation. Desire for never-ending beauty: Mary shows the true beauty that comes from God our Creator. Desire for commitment: Mary, a committed woman, reminds us that each of us has a true vocation that we are called to live.
Let us look to Mary, in this chapel where she came and sat down and talked with Saint Catherine. Let us ask her for the grace to share her inner beauty, that of faith, love, courage, fidelity and charity.
With Mary, let us go to Christ who is the way, the truth and the life. Consecration is one of the ways of doing this.
